Yogasanas and Pranayama to remove Kapha:
1. Triangle posture
In this posture, the position of our body looks like a triangle. That’s why it is called triangle posture. This asana removes the diseases caused by Kapha. As the increase in Kapha increases obesity, it also reduces obesity. This reduces the stress on our bodies. Many problems start arising in our body due to stress, this asana removes these problems. The increase in Kapha increases acidity, which it reduces.
Method of doing:
- Stand in a careful position.
- Make a gap of 30 inches between both feet.
- Open both the hands equal to the shoulders.
- The palms will be facing in front.
- Turn the toes of your left foot outwards and while exhaling, touch your whole body to the left. After that put your left hand next to the left foot.
- The right hand will be facing towards the sky. Shoulders will not bend forward or backward, they will remain equal.
- The right leg will remain slightly inwards. Hold 15-20 seconds in this posture and do it according to your ability.
- Come back slowly taking a normal breath. And repeat the same posture from the other side as well. Take rest for some time.
- If you are doing asanas in the initial phase, then do it under someone’s supervision.
In Dhanurasana, our body looks like a bow. Because of which it is called Dhanurasana. This asana removes the problems related to our digestion. That is why it is also beneficial in reducing phlegm. At the same time, it reduces our belly fat. Provides strength to the spine and shoulders. This asana is very beneficial in cough. Keep in mind while doing this asana, if you have problems related to the waist, then do not do it. If you do, do it under someone’s supervision. Do not do this asana even if you have a hernia or ulcer, abdominal pain.
Method of doing:
- Lie down on your stomach by laying a posture on the ground.
- Place both your hands next to your thighs.
- The palms will be facing towards the ground.
- Bend both the knees and clasp your ankles.
- While inhaling, raise the head and chest upwards. Simultaneously, lift your thighs from behind to the top.
- Your entire body weight and balance will be on the stomach.
- In the beginning, hold this posture for 10 seconds. And gradually increase its practice.

3. Ujjayi Pranayama
This pranayama massages our neck muscles. And helps in removing frozen phlegm. Removes the toxic and contaminants accumulated in our throat and body out of the body. It is helpful in removing phlegm in our body as well as balances the dosha of Kapha.
Method of doing:
- Bend both your legs and sit on the altar party. If someone has a knee problem then they can do it even sitting on a chair or bed.
- Join your index finger and thumb together.
- Keep the waist and neck straight.
- Take 5 to 6 normal breaths in and out.
- Now start practicing this asana.
- In this posture, when you will fill your breath inwards, then you have to contract the muscles of your throat. While exhaling, release the muscles of the throat.
- Do this pranayama only 15 to 20 times in the beginning and gradually increase its practice. But increasing the practice does not mean that it should be done all day.
- 30 to 35 times Ujjayi Pranayama practice is enough for a healthy body.
4. Kapalbhati Kriya
Kapalbhati expels all the phlegm stored in our windpipe through the breath. This opens the airways and the obstructions of the nostrils and throat. This gives relief in breathing. The effect of blood on the brain increases, due to which our mind becomes calm and happy. If we practice it regularly, it gets rid of Kapha. The body remains energetic. People who have high BP problems should not do it.
Method of doing:
- Bend both the legs and sit on the loincloth.
- If you do not have problems with your knees, then you can also do it in Vajrasana. If you can do Padmasana, do it in Padmasana.
- Keeping the waist and neck straight, leave the shoulders relaxed.
- Keeping your index finger and thumb, place them on your knees. After this take two or three normal breaths.
- Take long deep breaths inside the nostrils and release the whole breath outwards.
- Now start practicing Kapalbhati. In this, you have to let your breath out through the nose.
- Do Kapalbhati 30 to 40 times. So much Kapalbhati is fine for a healthy body.
